A Comparative Study on the Components of the Revised M.A. English Translation Curriculum in Asian Universities

The current master’s curriculum in English Translation major Iranian universities has not satisfied the demands of society which it was developed. students have complained that some essential skills are considered curriculum. Therefore, this study is aimed at proposing guidelines for reformers Iran to update To investigate effective components updating curriculum, necessary focus on curricula other foreign countries and compare them with Iran. For aim, a qualitative-comparative analysis used revised seven prominent Asian universities, strength weaknesses Iran, recognize included those be recommended universities. Hence, eight been compared five criteria, including title Master’s degree, number credits, course structure, instructional objectives, content. Results show list courses objectives needs added train translators who can work technological tools. achieve objective, named “co-translator software” should objective improve students’ interpretation skills, accessible by adding interpretation. findings provide novel information
